Recall That Works

 When It Matters

The schools are out, which means summer walks are about to get busier.

More dogs. More children. More wildlife. More distractions.
More opportunities for your dog to practise not coming back.

The Recall Reset is a practical online course to help you rebuild your dog’s recall properly, so walks feel safer, calmer and more enjoyable.

Reviews

Our Walks Have Been Transformed

"Using her excellent knowledge and understanding of dog behaviour, Lez’s Recall Reset course is both welcome and easy to follow. Lez takes us through a matter-of-fact review of the newly revised dog laws, reinforcing why recall is so important. After a reality check with the initial assessment of your dog’s current recall in the real world, the 11 modules set clear training goals and explain how to achieve them. Our walks have been transformed with games, great engagement, and generally having fun with our dog. I would highly recommend the course!"

Significantly Improved Our Dog's Recall

"Recall Reset takes you through building a strong connection and having quality engagement with your dog and it has transformed our daily walks. By incorporating the training exercises and games into our routine, walks have become more enjoyable, interactive, and rewarding for both of us. The course material is laid out clearly and logically, and the site itself is easy to navigate. The training plan is provided in an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide. By following the approach, we’ve significantly improved our dog’s recall and successfully introduced a reliable whistle recall."

well written and

no nonsense

"The Recall Reset course by Lez Graham is a clear step by step guide to help all dog owners achieve what is (or should be) a non negotiable part of responsible dog ownership. As ever from Lez...well written and no nonsense it sets out how dogs learn and simple effective steps to achieve what all dog owners want...namely reliable recall. Broken down into easy to follow modules making learning fun for both owner and dog whilst helping to strengthen the bond between them. Highly recommended."

A  Note from  Lez

I’ve worked with thousands of dogs and owners across pet and working environments, and I’ve written five international award-winning books.

I founded the Pet Gundog Club and now mentor dog trainers, handlers, and behaviour professionals across the UK & not just owners.

 I’ve helped dogs who:

• switch off completely outdoors

• struggle around livestock or other dogs • lose recall under pressure

Recall doesn’t fail because owners don’t care. It fails because the foundations weren’t built for real life.

This course changes that for you and your dog!

Recall Reset FAQs
  • How long does the course take to complete?
    The course is self-paced.

Most owners work through it over 6–8 weeks, following the Recall Reset structure, but you can move faster or slower depending on your dog and your lifestyle.

There’s no pressure to rush - recall improves through consistency, not speed.
  • Will this work for adolescent or high-drive dogs?
Yes. In fact, adolescent and high-drive dogs often benefit the most. The Recall Reset focuses on structure, value, and decision-making - not suppression - which is exactly what these dogs need when distractions are high.
  • Is this suitable if my dog used to have good recall but has lost it?
    Absolutely.

Loss of recall is extremely common and usually happens when:
    • environments change
    • distractions increase
    • reinforcement becomes inconsistent

This course is designed to rebuild recall from the ground up, not patch over problems.
  • Is this course safe and ethical?
    Yes.

The Recall Reset is behaviour-led, welfare-first, and grounded in how dogs actually learn.

There are no punitive methods, no gimmicks, and no pressure-based techniques. Safety - for your dog, other dogs, livestock, and people - is always the priority.
  • Does this replace working with a trainer in person?
This course gives you the knowledge, structure, and clarity to train recall correctly.
For many owners, it’s enough on its own.

For others, it provides a strong foundation that makes in-person training far more effective.

Either way, you’ll stop guessing and start making informed choices.
  • What equipment do I need?
    Nothing special to begin with.

    The course covers:
    • what equipment supports recall
    • what can unintentionally undermine it
    • when (and when not) to introduce tools

You’ll be guided clearly so you’re not buying things you don’t need.
  • Is this relevant with the current and upcoming dog legislation?
Yes. The course includes a dedicated module on Dogs & the Law, helping you understand:

    • your responsibilities as an owner
    • why recall is increasingly treated as a duty of control, not a preference
    • how reliable recall supports safer, more compliant dog handling

This is about reducing risk, not creating fear.
  • My dog doesn’t respond to food or toys - will this still work?
    Yes.

Motivation isn’t about endlessly searching for a “better treat”. It’s about understanding value, timing, and context.

The course teaches you how to develop your connection with your dog and building recall value properly - even for dogs who appear uninterested or easily distracted.
  • Is this suitable for nervous or ‘distracted’ dogs?
Yes. This course focuses on clarity and predictability, which many nervous dogs find reassuring.

However, if your dog has significant behavioural challenges, the course should be used thoughtfully and at your dog’s pace.

The aim is progress - not pressure.
  • What if I get stuck?
You’ll have clear guidance throughout the course to help you understand:

    • what to adjust
    • when to pause
    • how to move forward safely

This course is designed to teach you how to think about recall, not just follow steps blindly.
  • How long do I get access to the course?
You’ll receive 12 months of access from the date of purchase.

That gives you time to work through the reset properly, revisit modules as needed and refresh your training as your dog matures.

    Recall isn’t a one-off task - it’s something you maintain.
  • Is there a refund policy?
Because this is a complete digital course with instant access to all materials, there are no refunds.

Please read the page carefully before enrolling and make sure you’re ready to commit to doing the work.

Reliable recall is built through application.
  • Final but important
Only the person holding the lead can decide when it comes off.

This course gives you the structure and skills to build reliability. But in real life, you are responsible for assessing the environment and making that decision.

    Effort determines outcome.
    Judgement determines freedom.
